Good Friday...

So yesterday was Good Friday, I had a chance to go to Rockharbor's Good Friday service; I have to say that I love God's Justice. I want to appeal to it every time I can. I think Mike was right on when it comes to how, as Christians tend to go for God’s mercy, which is not wrong, but we miss out on God’s Justice. I think that I need to look at God’s justice more. I don’t mean that justice that involves Him beating you on the head when you do something wrong!!!(Which I need so times) It’s the justice that leads me to remember what He did on the cross for me. You know the famous saying that Christians say ‘it was my sin that kept Jesus on the Cross’, which is a true statement but the second half of it should be that it was also God’s justice that kept Him on the cross too. I think that I personally am just scratching the surface of this issue. The challenge is that we remember His justice in everything we do. This just hit me right between the eyes. I have to admit that I fear God’s justice and yesterday was the first day I enjoyed His justice. Tonight Hani and I are continuing the tradition we started last year of volunteering an hour to pray for the weekend and the events that Rockharbor have this weekend. So we are doing it tonight. I hope that everyone will take a moment this weekend and reflect on the raise he celebrate Easter.

P.S: This is my first post with my new Powerbook…. NO more windows, virus, spyware. I heart apple. More to come about this wonderful machine… till then enjoy this weekend and remember God’s justice.

Happy Birthday to my Blog...

Yes it has been a year of blogging. I don’t know where the time has gone. From live blogging during the Presidential and VP Debates, to Election Night, to why I hate myspace, it has been a great year to have a blog. There are certain people that I have to thank for introducing this wonderful tool in my life. I have to thank Hani aka the Bushra himself to introducing me to blogging. I have to thank my technical team even though I don’t pay them and I keep asking them dumb question. Peter and Ho, thanks for all your help guys and I still owe you dinner(I think). And finally for the people that visited this blog the past year. Thank you and keep coming back.

P.S: Mrs. Fayrouz has some kind words about me, and she is the one that reminded me that it has been a year.

Tomorrow is a good day, ill tell you later….

Two Years later...

This weekend in the Second anniversary of Operation Iraqi Freedom, I just want to take the time to thank all the Service Men and Women of my adopted country. Thank you for your sacrifice and your willing to put it all on the line. Thank you for your bravery and steadfastness in a time were it was and is needed. I am speechless and no words could describe the gratitude that I have for you. Second group of people that really need to be thanked are the Iraqis themselves. On January 30th of this year you defied all the doubters and showed up. You said NO to terrorism and YES to freedom. You too are brave and steadfast. You too have sacrificed with your lives, and you are still fighting for your country. I admire your courage and willingless to stare tyranny straight in the eye. Look at the example you have set forward and look at what you have started. THANK YOU. So wait all worth it… I bet it was. Read what Husayn has to say about the two year anniversary.

Beating up your women....

For people that really want to know what Islam says about beating up women... This is a sad reality that women in the Middle East go through. I think one of the saddest things if you watch the different video clips (via MEMRI), which I recommend all to watch, its in Arabic but they do a great job in translating it, is how they differ from beating up women for discipline verses just beating them up. It is still beating up a human being!!! I hope that everyone gets a view of what true Islam is about. These are not laymen (yes most of the people advocating this practice are men) of the street. These are "scholars" that people follow and listen to. I agree with the last statement that Ladybird states. A clear message needs to be send to people that these practices are wrong but the bigger picture is the questions that it raises about Islam and the treatment of women, equality, and life. Please read this post and comment. If you don’t comment just read and be informed.

More from the ME....

Thanks Peter for the link and the article. True that something good is going on in the ME but still it doesn't come at a cheap price. Drudge has this news flash

SADDAM JUDGE FOUND MURDERED IN BAGHDAD

Read the story here.

The left and what is happening...

After a challenge from my brother to not just to read bloggers from the left, but to READ them more, I have decided to see what they had to say about what is happening in the Middle East (ME). Apparently Kos and Talking Points (which took them all day to post something about what happened) Are happy but at the same time pessimistic...HUH as instapundit would say. They seriously don't get it... I am not saying that Bush deserves all the credit, but what I am saying is that they need to walk up and realize that the ME is walking up partially because of what happened in Afghanistan and Iraq... It is bigger than Bush, it is bigger than Iraq, it is bigger than Afghanistan... Its people looking at the government and saying you are in power to serve use not the other way around. Egypt is moving towards that (even though I believe that Mubark will easily get reelected) but still they moved him to do something amazing yesterday. People all over the ME are realizing that now is their time to do something about government and they are taking it seriously and moving faster than anyone expected. To all the people that desire freedom and equality I salute you... Thanks for your heart and passion and continue the battle....
